eintopf_sepen: booting over usb doesnt work yet?04:23
sepenyeah I know, I'm still fighting with it04:24
teK_beware were you dd the crux.img to.. I fscked my encrypted USB-Backup disk :\04:25
sepenteK_, O.o04:26
sepen'dd' its an app for use at your own risk ;D04:26
teK_I lost about 100GB of backup-copies of movies04:31
pitilloteK_: did you use the script to build the img over a partition instead of a disk? or which was the reason to lost that amount of info?04:33
sepenpitillo, he used dd04:33
teK_after building the .img you have to dd it to the stick04:35
sependd with root privileges is like a weapon of mass destruction04:35
teK_I don't know why, but sdc sdb where switched around (disk vs. stick)04:35
pitilloah, understood, sorry and thank you for the aclaration, I didn't undertand it04:35
teK_I will create a udev rule to rename /dev/sdb to /dev/warez or something04:35
teK_then this won't happen again04:36
eintopf_I damaged my crux on my notebook already, I would like to change in the initrd the file init. Changes some lines to mount /dev/sda to /.tmpfs/.cdrom but stupid cpio and root privileges overwrite my /bin direction... thats a linux fail...05:03

NomiusI always have my system up to date from the ports... I installed crux 2.5 and I've updated all my packages from the ports (ports -u && prt-get sysup). Does it mean I'm running 2.6 now?18:28
thrice`nope, 2.6 has its own branch18:31
thrice`if you check out your drivers in /etc/ports/, you'll probably see 2.5 items as your rsync path18:31
NomiusYes, thanks :-)18:33
NomiusIs it there a way to update from 2.5 to 2.6 without re-installing?18:33
NomiusThis is a netbook and it is kinda a pain in the ass to re-install it :-P18:34
thrice`yes, there definitely is :)18:34
NomiusDo you know where can I read to do it? :-)18:35
thrice`you can probably grab the iso, and use "pkgadd -u" on the packages in core/18:43
thrice`you can do it via ports, but it's complicated (well, time consuming) - mainly because of the toolchain18:46
NomiusOh, great :-)18:50
NomiusThanks thrice`18:50
NomiusBut can I upgrade for example the glibc while I'm using it?18:51
NomiusWhat about also upgrading bash?18:51
thrice`yep, that's typically why it's advised to do it from a live media18:52
NomiusI hope it works :-)18:52
thrice`if you are on a recent kernel, it should mostly be OK though18:53
thrice`the glibc package requires at least 2.6.26, I think18:53
NomiusI'm running 2.6.30 so18:54
