ThePubI'm kind of having a strange problem recently and it's beyond my insignificant self to solve it ;)12:44
ThePubthe /sys mount doesn't always remount during startup.  instead it claims to be busy.12:45
ThePubthe result is that if X starts there is no mouse/keyboard.  although if X does not start it works fine at the console, until X starts.12:45
ThePubit's sporadic, not consistent that during startup there will be a error that /sys is busy.12:46
ThePubI was thinking it was line 54 of /etc/rc causing the error.  although I don't have a clue why it should be "busy" at that point.  it's the only time in the whole startup process where that is remounted that I can tell.12:49
ThePubI'm just using the rc scripts from "rc"12:49

LukcThePub, topic?13:11
ThePubyes, and I use evdev for both.  so how does it apply?13:13
ThePubthese two issues seem to be related though. if /sys gives the error then the kb/mouse does not work, if there is no error on startup it works. root manually remounting /sys "solves" it until restart and the game of chance starts again.  :)13:15
jseThere were some posts on that issue at the mailing list last year.13:28
jseCan't recall if it was some util-linux or udev issue.13:30
jseThe fix itself was to remount /sys in /etc/rc.13:30

ThePubsuppose it wasn't completely beyond me.  after adding "sleep 1" after line 52 of /etc/rc the problem has "resolved" itself.14:30
ThePubseems kludgy but maybe it's something related to the kernel recompile I did recently -- although that's not when the issue started.14:31
veejaeger did soemthing similiar to my computer. it was having issues loading something O.o14:34
