cruxbot[contrib.git/2.7]: nagios-plugins: updated to 1.4.16 and fixed footprint04:21
sepennmap failed to build here http://d3e54d9c9b3977ea.paste.se/04:29
sepenteK_: I think nmap should have libpcap listed as dep04:30
frinnstyeah seems he's remove the entire line by mistake04:32
frinnsti've told him also. but since he's german he thinks he knows best :D04:33
sepenlol04:33
sepenthere is also a footprint mismatch http://3cecbccae4bb0632.paste.se/04:35
frinnstyeah I've come across that a few times also. think it depends on what configure detects if nmap-update gets built04:37
Romsterfrinnst, you finish and push firefox yet?05:01
*** vaddi has quit IRC05:05
frinnstnot yet. I'd rather not add new dependencies just to fix a bug05:10
frinnstI will fix it this weekend05:10

juefrinnst: thanks for yor mail wrt str problems in glibc, fixes are in the glibc 2.16 branch now05:31
jueRomster: IIRC, you are using the nvidia binary driver?05:32
Romsteryeah i haven't bumped my xorg-server on my local machine yet, requires restarting my desktop and i got a bunch of stuff open...06:06
Romsterhas anyone else experienced that issue besides Bernd?06:08
juenot me, I've tried it with openbox which worked06:10
jueworks well with spectrwm as well, but that might not count because there's not title bar ;)06:12

v33hey guys, i've been trying to get the audio up on this machine, and, regardless of how i build the sound, audio wont work13:18
v33http://pastebin.com/HvK9n9ap is the kernel config13:18
v33http://pastebin.com/n3Y5WTyd the output of lspci13:19

rmullv33: How are you testing?13:29
rmullis the module loaded?13:35
teK_http://wurstball.de/78772/13:42
teK_!13:42
teK_please set this as topic13:42
v33well now, alsamixer wont even show up, says the file is not found, and when it was (it stopped working after messing with the kernel), youtubedidn't have any audio13:48
rmullteK_: Is that poettering?13:58
rmullv33: Do you have some pastes of the actual errors?13:59
rmullAnd when you say "messing with the kernel" what do you mean?13:59
teK_it is14:01
v33give me a second, ill post the error. its on another computer14:18
v33cannot open mixer: No such file or directory14:21
v33i tried /usr/bin/alsamixer, and it says the same thing14:21
v33i had changed some of the kernel settings in regards to the audio, and, thats when alsamixer kept saying not found14:23
teK_which module is loaded for your soundcard?14:23
teK_check with lspci -k14:23
teK_any hints in dmesg(1)?14:23
v33there is nothing loaded in lspci -k in regards to audio, but let me check dmesg14:25
teK_well -_-14:25
v33nothing really comes up in dmesg. im pretty sure its something kernel related, but, it uses the snd-hda-intel card, and, i've built anything with intel with audio as a module, so something should come up, but doesn't14:27
teK_you can have my config as a reference14:28
teK_Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel14:28
v33i even tried modprobe snd_hda_intel, and nothing...14:28
v33but sure, i'd love to take a look see at your kernel config14:28
v33probably missed something stupid anyway14:29
teK_http://serverop.de/~tek/.config.gz14:31
v33thanks tek_14:35
teK_np14:35
*** sammi` has quit IRC14:43
v33i built support for the same stuff you did, execpt, i built it as a module where as you built it with direct support14:48
teK_did not work either?:)14:51
v33just rebuilt it, going to restart14:53
v33the only other thing i can think of is i built support for everything inside the intel hd audio...maybe the cards are conflicting14:53
v33well lspci -k is detecting the snd-hda-intel now...15:00
*** himynameisphil has quit IRC15:02
v33hm...lspci -k finds it, aplay -l also finds the card, still no audio15:05
teK_muted? :)15:05
teK_what about alsamixer?15:05
teK_your user is in the audio group?15:05
v33let me check15:06
*** v33 has quit IRC15:09
*** mike_k has quit IRC15:12
*** v33 has joined #crux15:16
v33sorry about that...got disconnected. i am part of the audio group...still no audio though15:16
teK_alsamixer?15:17
teK_check that no "essential" device is muted15:18
teK_is this a laptop installation?15:18
v33no, this is a desktop, and alsamixer has everything on high15:18
*** himynameisphil has joined #crux15:18
teK_mute is an additional flag15:18
teK_toggle it by selecting the desired channel and pressing m15:19
v33sorry, not sure what that is, and ow to check lol15:19
teK_the first bar for me says:15:19
teK_< Master >15:19
teK_9615:19
teK_0015:19
teK_[green stuff]15:19
teK_from bottome to top15:19
v3310 0<>10015:20
v33i turned everything all the way up15:20
teK_if a deviceis muted it says:15:20
teK_< Master >15:20
teK_9615:20
teK_MM15:20
teK_[green stuff]15:20
teK_so be careful ;)15:20
teK_there may be a single device without bars that is muted15:20
teK_(scroll by using your left/right arrow keys)15:20
v33everything has bars, but under the green bars, there is an MM15:21
teK_than this channel is muted.15:21
v33though i've used the arrow keys to increase everthing up15:21
v33how does one unmute?15:21
rmullJust fyi if you've added a user to a group, you may need to log out of everywhere that user is logged in and then back in15:21
teK_22:19 < teK_> toggle it by selecting the desired channel and pressing m15:21
v33allllll my god damn rage15:22
teK_I had the problem that nothing was muted + with the right volume but no sound would play until I pressed the hardware button for mute/unmute on my laptop so keep your rage :-)15:22
teK_I also wasted a whole day (!) because a friend's laptop had its touchpad disabled by Fn+F715:22
teK_I checked the xorg.conf a dozen times.. reinstalled evdev etc.15:23
teK_imagine my RAGE15:23
v33i've been compiling and recompiling this kernel 4875934 times, and what not15:23
teK_you're welcome :-)15:23
v33anyways, thanks tek_, at least my ego is partially in tact15:24
v33the kernel part was right, it was just muted15:24
teK_hehe15:24
v33well, thanks again, im going to blow off some steam...its 130, i wont look weird for drinking early15:28
teK_*g*15:28
teK_good idea though15:29
