elderKHey guys,14:19
elderKdid the latest system update kill Skype for you guys?14:19
elderKJust wondering.14:19
elderKI've not used strace before or any program to really help discover what another is crashing, other than GDB with my own,14:19
elderKbut how can I detect the source?14:19
elderKstrace just tells me there was a SIGSEGV.14:20
elderKI'll parse strace's output in more depth later but mostly I just want to know if anyone else is getting issues with Skype too.14:20
teK_I'm pretty sure skype inc made sure you'd have a hard time figuring out the source by the use of gdb..14:21
elderKaye.14:26
elderK;) whic his why I'm not using GDB :)14:26
elderKI'm just wondering how I can determine what was updated, that broke Skype.14:27
elderKqt4-32 was updated which skype utilizes.14:27
elderKharfbuzz... etc14:27
teK_don't use skype myself14:32
elderKAny tips on how I can determine th eproblem?9$14:33
elderK:( I have to use it for work :(14:33
Henesyreinstall skype?14:36
Henesynot like it takes a tragic amount of time14:36
Henesysave the .skype folder or whatever and then reinstall14:36
teK_how is that supposed to help? It's binary software so the program/libraries won't change a bit14:42
Henesy*shrug*14:43
HenesyI use skype on linux, don't have it on crux. Only thing I know it depends on is qt14:43
teK_pDependencies: qt4-32,alsa-lib-32,xorg-libxscrnsaver-32,xorg-libxv-3214:53
teK_to be precise14:53
Henesycharming. Rebuild those ports?14:54
Romstercan't hurt, skype is running here ok14:58
Romsteri need more details on what causes the crash and how it crashes. so i can try to recreate it.14:58
Romsterbut right now i'm off to work.14:59

*** Romeo` has quit IRC15:33
teK_tested it.. just a version bump away, so no worries15:34
teK_mplayer has no default support for libva? kidding? :\15:44
teK_We would like to get MPlayer-VAAPI merged and need some developers to review and fix up the codebase.15:50
teK_ok ;)15:50
elderKI have reinstalled and I have those dependencies.15:54
elderKI've been using it for quite some time.15:54
elderKI'll rebuild each library.15:54

diverseis there a way to change the tty framebuffer resolution size?19:22
niklaswe_if you have framebuffer supported in the kernel you can use vga=791 in your lilo.conf to get 1024x786 resolution..21:07
niklaswe_I think you must enable 8x16 and the otehr fonts for framebuffer too, but Im not sure21:07
diverseniklaswe_: thank you21:08
diverseniklaswe_: I will see if I can adapt that to my syslinux.cfg, since I am using syslinux21:09

diverseniklaswe_: I got it to work! I had it display the different modes at boot and I picked the 1600x1200x16 mode which is 346 in hex. So I did a vga=838 for decimal in the file and it works automatically.21:19
