poulecacaanyway have you seen that man package's url is down since a while ?20:07
jaegeryes, very unstable. we should change that one20:07
poulecacas/package/port/20:07
poulecacaI've looked for an alternative, but didn't like man-db20:08

nlightnfotisHello22:29
nlightnfotiswhat's the license on the iso utilities and the port utilities?22:30
*** jdolan has quit IRC22:36
jaegerthe official (core, opt, xorg, compat-32) ports repository Pkgfiles are GNU GPL22:38
jaegerThe individual source packages may have varied licenses, of course22:38
nlightnfotisoh I know about the ports22:40
nlightnfotisthe prt-utils is unlicensed as it seems22:40
nlightnfotisand the iso repo doesn't seem to have a license22:40
nlightnfotisare they gpl licensed too?22:40
jaegerah, fair enough. probably should decide those at some point. I'm no licensing guru22:40
nlightnfotisyeah, as it seems if anyone wanted to make a fork, he should consider them all rights reserved22:41
nlightnfotisi.e be unable to use them22:42
jaegerwill have to discuss it, we're all in different time zones22:43
nlightnfotisI was asking, because to be honest I was thinking of forking crux ( a soft fork, mainly to mess with it in my own repos) and wanted to play with the port utilities too, but my hands are tied as far as they are concerned. Would need a license to use them , or I would be forced to write my own (which could be fun now that I'm thinking of it)22:45
jaegerIt's probably just oversight, not by design, that they lack licensing22:46
nlightnfotisit's alright, I'm not accusing you of anything, I have deep respect for you guys and your work, just asking because I don't want any legal issues to arise, I just want to play with the source code and learn as much as possible22:47
jaegerunderstandable. thanks for the heads-up22:47
*** Rotwang1 has quit IRC22:48
nlightnfotisjaeger: thanks for the support.22:48
jaegerNo problem. I never really think about licensing myself but it should probably be addressed. :)22:49
nlightnfotiswill this be discussed in the mailing list? If so, I should subscribe myself to it22:50
jaegerprobably in irc but never hurts to be on the list22:51
nlightnfotisjaeger: another question if you have the time: How do you keep the ports updated? I mean, it would require you to have a repository, and then rsync from it, or create a new folder, rm the .git and then rsync from it?23:14
