nlightnfotisHello, I have a question :) Why are the isoutils rebuilding everything they just installed in the Stage1 bootstrap process? Am I missing something?15:38
nlightnfotisas far as I can tell, in the Makefile, at the all-chroot target, in line 221 (approx) it rebuilds everything it built in stage0 and essentially forces pkgmk to do it. Why is it proceeding to rebuild everything when it's already built? Sanity check?15:43
jaegerpretty much, yes. It's to ensure that there are no surprises in the toolchain or linking.15:49
jaegerIt actually builds everything 3 times. stage0 is built using the host system's tools, stage1 using stage0 packages, and stage2 using stage1 packages15:49
nlightnfotisso If I want to build my own version of crux, I have to ensure I have a clean bootstrap, else I'm in for a fun ride?15:50
nlightnfotisls15:50
jaegerYou might be, though if you're careful maybe not. I'd say that if you want to be absolutely sure, yes15:51

retardwould the correct naming for a port of openssh be openssh-hpn? what's the appropriate thing to do with $name in the Pkgfile in that case?21:35
retarduh, a port of openssh with hpn applied21:35
jaegerI'd call it openssh-hpn, yeah. since openssh already exists without hpn21:36
retardmmm, but would i then replace the $name in the urls with just openssh?21:36
retardurls and filenames21:36
teK_if there were ports depending on openssh you could add it to /var/lib/pkg/prt-get.aliases to adjust that, too21:36
jaegeryeah, just replace $name with openssh21:37
retardgreat21:37
retardthanks for the advice :)21:37
jaegerIt's not required that you use $name in a Pkgfile, just makes things cleaner if you can21:37
jaegernp21:37
retardthat goes for you too, teK_21:38
teK_welcome.21:39
teK_I packaged that thingy too (a looong time ago)21:39
retardhm, is there some way of denoting that openssh-hpn will suffice for whatever depends on openssh, uh, in the package?21:39
retardi mean, that's clearly a prt-get feature, but.. so is the whole depends-thing21:40
teK_yeah21:40
teK_23:36 < teK_> if there were ports depending on openssh you could add it to /var/lib/pkg/prt-get.aliases to adjust that, too21:40
teK_but none of the ports in core, opt, contrib and xorg depend on it21:40
retardsure, but can it be done in the actual Pkgfile/repository?21:40
jaegerI'd prefer to have something like # Provides: openssh in the Pkgfile but as it is there's nothing for that aside from prt-get.aliases21:40
jaegernot currently21:40
retardmmmm, # Provides: seems like a very clean fix21:41
retardtheoretical though it may be21:41
jaegerI'd like to rewrite pkgutils and prt-get into a single tool, myself, and make deps a standard feature, among others. My programming skills are a bit lacking, though, so that's on my "sometime later" list21:42
retarddoing echo -e "\nopenssh: openssh-hpn" >> /var/lib/pkg/prt-get.aliases is a terrible cludge, but i guess it would do in a pinch for my (very) private repo :]21:43
