retardso i'm trying to make a package that has a couple of symlinks in /usr/bin, and when prt-get installing it the symlinks end up pointing into the workdir18:19
retardwhile if i pkgadd everything is fine18:19
retardshould i make my package create absolute symlinks?18:20
retardthe other symlinks i see in /usr/bin are relative though18:20
jaegeruse relative ones in your Pkgfile18:24
retardthe links are relative inside the package tar.gz18:24
retardwhen installing themm using prt-get they become absolute, and point into the workdir18:25
jaegerhow odd18:25
jaegernever run across that before18:25
jaegerwhich packages are doing that?18:26
retardone i am trying to make :]18:26
jaegerpastebin your Pkgfile, maybe?18:26
retardi doubt it's relevant, considering the symlinks are relative both when unpacking the package manually as well as when using pkgadd18:27
jaegertrue, probably not. I was just curious18:27
tilmanprt-get just calls pkgadd though18:27
jaegerdo you have a custom "addcommand" in prt-get.conf?18:29
retardno, it's very default18:32
jaegerhere's another thing which makes this very odd: crux packages don't store metadata at all. No work dir path, etc.18:33
jaegerSo I can't even fathom how it's possible18:33
retardyeah, i am struggling myself18:33
retardit must be something i do18:33
jaegercan you upload the built package somewhere?18:33
jaegersorry, was away from my desk, will check it out19:05
retardno worries, no rush19:05
retardi am thankful for the help19:06
jaegeras you said the package file looks fine. relative symlinks19:06
jaegerSorry, I've got no idea19:09
retard.. okay, i figured it out19:12
retardthere's a conflict with a different repo19:12
jaegerheh... so you're actually building/installing someone else's package19:13
retardsorry for bugging you for no reason19:13
retardyeah, i had no idea that package was in that repo19:13
jaegerI'll have to remember that one, odd situationb19:13

rexichhello everyone :)21:35
rexichdoes anyone know (or have any source of info) how to compile my own variant of LibreOffice, without support for cups or dbus, for example?21:36
frinnstyou probably need to sacrifice 10 virgins into a volcano or something, to get libreoffice to build21:37
rexichoh my :O21:37
rexichthe current LibreOffice in the repos is not compiled, but repacked21:37
frinnstits one of those reason why binary packages exist :)21:37
frinnstim sure you can get it to work. but you probably need to spend a day or two getting it to work21:38
rexichnever mind that, I'd like to try to get it to compile and work as I choose. and ideas?21:38
rexichfrinnst, do you know how?21:38
frinnsti remember playing with it way back when I did the x86_6421:38
shatwhaa, spending a day or two to get some software suite to work is why I like linux.21:38
rexichshat: me too :D21:39
rexichthat's why I use CRUX21:39
rexichI like to tinker with the packages21:39
rexichadjust them to my taste21:39
rexichso I'd like to do the same for LibreOffice, it's too bloated but I need it a lot for university tasks21:40
frinnstmight be informative21:40
rexichfrinnst, there is no compilation made here, only repacking :/21:42
frinnstdoh, right. sorry21:43
frinnstyeah we never did build openoffice21:43
frinnstiirc there was a source port available someplace a few years ago21:43
frinnstlfs/blfs dont have any details on it?21:44
rexichI'm reading this last link, it seems better than the Arch method:
rexich32 KB Pkgbuild, omg21:48
