teK__Romster: dunno, it's not mine.10:43
teK__I like the marking of differences in lines, though. Yet I don't know which application can do that10:43
Romsterdiverse, only really works for the we bundle everything packages so they don't need rebuilding on every other port bump.10:44
diverseright, especially those that don't have many cores10:46
Romsteryep11:00
Romsterit's like a 3 hour or longer compile for some.11:00
diverseespecially on your +20 core setup11:01
Romstereh it wont beat a proper xeon setup but it has some power behind it.11:04

leo-unglaubdoes anyone here run crux with a encrypted root partition? i am trying and trying, but it' not working at all ..14:16
frinnstleo-unglaub: i think tek does (or did)14:21
frinnststick around and wait for him14:21
leo-unglaubyes, teK__ is also assigned to the cryptsetup ticket in the bugtracker14:21
frinnstI run it on my laptop but with debian. You have a unencrypted boot partition with initrd. And a script in the initrd that prompts for the passphrase and unlocks & mounts / to continiue with the boot. But im sure you know this :)14:24
leo-unglaubyes, i used this combination with debian for the last 7 years on my laptop to, but i wanted to give Crux a try because  Debian is now a systemd fanboy ... and you cannot get rid of it14:25
leo-unglaubjust btw, the links in here are broken: http://crux.nu/Wiki/Cryptsetup and they do not work :(14:29
frinnstseems to work for me: https://serverop.de/~tek/crux-dmcrypt/14:30
frinnstcryptsetup-initrd.tar2014-Aug-05 11:41:374.0Mapplication/x-tar14:30
frinnstlooks promising14:31
leo-unglaubhttps://serverop.de/~tek/crux-dmcrypt/cryptsetup-initrd.tar.bz2 is the wrong one14:31
leo-unglaubhttps://serverop.de/~tek/crux-dmcrypt/cryptsetup-initrd.tar is right14:31

leo-unglaubfrinnst: may is ask why you use debian on your laptop if you are so active in Crux?14:43
diverseteK__ is off hiking somewhere atm14:46
frinnstits an old eeepc.14:48
frinnstslow as fuck :)14:48
frinnsti686 atom cpu14:49
diverseoh wow, that would suck for building pkgs14:49
frinnst2009 powah14:49
leo-unglaubhehe, i see14:49
leo-unglaubfirefox building time 2 days *g*14:50
diversewell fortunately, Romster has a repo of prebuild pkgs that take a long time: http://crux.ster.zone/packages/3.1/14:51
diverseleo-unglaub: save yourself the time14:51
diversebut yeah, ideally having really slow machines will make crux a less pleasing experience14:54
leo-unglaubslow machines or cryptsetup ... ;)14:56
diversewell I should rephrase that: ideally, having really fast multicore machines makes crux a pleasant experience. See, it's a half glass full that way ;)14:57
diverseyou could however, cluster a bunch of computers together and use distcc to make compilation a lot faster, by having the compiler capable of doing more jobs.14:59
teK__back.15:07
teK__not been eaten by some bear15:07
leo-unglaubhey teK__ :)15:17
leo-unglaubdo you have time for a cryptsetup question?15:18
*** dxtr has quit IRC15:19
teK__try me15:33
leo-unglaubto be specific: why doesn't it work *g*15:33
leo-unglaubi tryed the iso from https://serverop.de/~tek/crux-dmcrypt/15:34
leo-unglaubbut that iso is not bootable, it's broken15:34
leo-unglaubthen i booted a live debian disc an created the encrypted partitions there and then i wanted to chroot into it and install crux there, but th chroot does not work there15:35
leo-unglaubso i am a little bit out of ideas :(15:35
teK__wait a sec.15:41
leo-unglaubsure, no hurry .... i spend the last two weekends with that ... i have time ;)15:42
teK__the ISO wont workhere too15:43
teK__wtf15:43
teK__will check that later today.15:55
leo-unglaubteK__: that would be nice :)15:55
leo-unglaubthanks in advance :)15:55

rmullRomster: Your 'pil' port is missing a dependency on freetype I think16:24
rmullIt looks for fterrors.h and fails if it doesn't exist16:25
rmulloh wait, what? Freetype is already installed for me16:25
rmulland the dep is in the Pkgfile16:25
rmullHuh. I wonder why it can't find the header.16:25
rmulloh, it's looking for freetype/fterrors.h, not freetype2/fterrors.h16:26
jaegerthat's a somewhat recent change, had to fix grub2 for it as well16:27
*** dxtr has quit IRC16:27
rmullCan I just sed the source files to replace freetype with freetype2?16:27
rmulllooks like yes16:32
rmullHere's the modded pkgfile http://sprunge.us/IIFM16:33
rmullSomething weird happening with adduser --system... Manpage says that no home directory will be created and the UID/GID will be within the SYS_UID_MIN/MAX and same for GID, but I created a system user and its home dir was created and its GID is outside the range specified in /etc/login.defs17:04
rmullsorry, useradd, not adduser.17:04
*** nimbius has joined #crux17:05
nimbiushey crux.  just booted up to 'no suitable video mode found'17:06
*** dxtr has joined #crux17:06
rmullOh. /etc/passwd points to a home dir, but that dir was not created.17:09
rmullI guess that's fine17:10
rmullthe GID is still out of the correct range17:10

joacimwhat does teh footprint error say?19:00
hhhhhhhhjoacim: yes: http://ix.io/eDt19:01
joacimnew files are usually safe to ignore19:02
joacimthose are just some optional plugins for weechat =)19:03
joacimyou can make it ignore new files. PKGMK_IGNORE_NEW="yes" in pkgmk.conf19:05
joacimthat way you don't have to deal with mostly harmless footprint mismatches like those19:06
