cruxbot[compat-32.git/3.1]: openssl-32: 1.0.1j -> 1.0.1k02:02
Romsteryeah i'd imagine macros aren't used the way you were using them.02:02
*** jdolan has joined #crux02:03
diverseRomster: it was more of a way to get around the borrow checker, but yeah they are more for explicit code gen02:03
diverseif you log into your account, you will see all the notifications of my commits02:04
Romsterexactly... i know it'll still work but, isn't it best to get the coding practices right now and not have someone else look at your code and go WTF.02:05
Romsteri started working on some stuff now.02:05
diverseI don't care if they go wtf. Actually I would want them to, so if they have something better to offer, I'm open to suggestions.02:07
diverseand not only I learn from my practices but I learn from other at the same time, a win-win02:07
diverse*others02:07
Romstermaybe a win-win or a oh shit i need to rewrite this again.02:08
Romstercan't really say until you get reviewers that know programming.02:08
diversewell that's why I can review their code and if I don't like something, I ask them to change it or don't accept it.02:09
diverseplus coming up with other ideas is not always easy, so you usually go with what you know02:12
Romsteryeah02:13
cruxbot[compat-32.git/3.1]: xorg-libxshmfence-32: 1.1 -> 1.202:13
cruxbot[compat-32.git/3.1]: elfutils-32: 0.159 -> 0.16102:13
cruxbot[compat-32.git/3.1]: dbus-32: 1.8.12 -> 1.8.1402:13
diverseRomster: and since I'm using Rust, it's even harder, because I need to figure out how to go about within the rules of the compiler, as if it were a game of chess.02:14
Romsterand there isn't widespread use or rust yet.02:14
Romsterplus it's constantly changing.02:14
Romsteri'm sticking with python for version sorting for the time being.02:15
diversethe former is true, the latter, not so much anymore, they just release alpha02:15
Romsterif i need more speed then some sections can be rewritten later.02:15
Romsters/or/of/02:16
Romsteri'm moving all the exec stuff out of Pkgfiles and starting to build a database then i'll just query that for the new versions.02:17
Romsterand that can do daily fetching from various sites. the bonus with the new way is, like xorg and freedesktop all on the same site i can index the entire file list in one hit than for every Pkgfile.02:18
Romsterso less transfer/server loading02:19
Romsterplus search able results on the site...02:19

Romsterhonestly though i think we need a crux 3.1.103:28
prologicI'll try to sort out a new base image soon03:28
prologicperhaps03:29
Romsterdue to gcc and many other changes.03:29
prologicbut ofc as you no doubt know03:29
prologicit's trivial to create a Dockerfile that's basically03:29

tilmanfrinnst: there is new radeon ucode in agd5f's website (lower case filenames). not 100% sure what the deal is, but it seems kernels >= 3.17 prefer the lower case files. also, the contents differs... might wanna to add those to the port?18:02

tilmanfrinnst: which makes me wonder if we should have a linux-firmware port (and get rid of the radeon-ucode port)18:49

Romsteri did have another mechinism where i could do like mirror:sourceforge/$name/$name-$version.tar.bz2 but meta4 support would be a better ida.23:14
Romstermirror//sourceforge/$name/$name-$version.tar.bz223:14
Romsterand had a file in /etc/pkgmk/mirrors/sourceforge listing all the mirrors.23:15
Romsterthat was when mirror switching by sourceforge was broken.23:15
