IRC Logs for #crux Thursday, 2015-11-19

casucciI am trying to solve a mystery. I can connect wifi with wpa_supplicant and dhcpcd in a terminal without problem. When I try to put the same commands in /etc/rc.d/wifi dhcpcd times out. In a terminal I use: /sbin/ip link set wlp3s0 up, /usr/sbin/wpa_supplicant -B -i wlp3s0 -c /etc/wifi.conf, /sbin/dhcpcd wlp3s000:04

casucciHello Everyone! I cannot figure out how to update ca-certificates to create /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt. How do I go about this?02:22

jaegercasucci: it installs /etc/ssl/cert.pem rather than /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt02:25
casucciWould I just cp cert.pem to /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt?02:29
jaegerI'd recommend just using it in place... do you have an app that's hard-coded to use that path?02:30
casucciI use it for isync, which looks for /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt. By changing .mbsyncrc to use /etc/ssl/cert.pem, that would be the same?02:32
jaegerGive it a try. I've no idea if isync expects a different format or something but I'd guess it works02:33
casucciI will try that. If not, I could symlink it maybe?02:33
jaegermost likely02:35
casucciThanks for your help!02:35
jaegernp, good luck02:37

Ghost_r00tIs there any crux's wiki entry about grub2 and EFI installation?03:13
jaegerthere is, actually. https://crux.nu/Wiki/UEFI03:13
jaegerwith that said, the grub install is much easier now than it was when I wrote that03:14
jaegerafter grub2-efi is installed, run grub-install /boot/efi and grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg03:14
jaegers,/boot/efi,wherever your ESP is mounted,03:14

xveenope. nothing21:43
xveegoogle chrome is having the same issue, so i dont think its on the browsers end. i dont think its audio related, since mp3's work. the only thing i can think of is the plugins/gstreamer, but i've rebuilt them21:44

pairaydIf I wish to install Crux off of a live cd, is it sufficient to just untar anything I need from core/ to my mounted disk, as a replacement for the setup script, or is there anything the setup script does in addition to that, that I would also need to do manually?23:13
pairaydOff a live cd other than the crux one, that is.23:13
pairaydLooking at the setup script, I noticed it uses pkgadd. Just made me realise that if I did that, then I suppose the package manager wouldn't be aware of them.23:22
pairaydGuess that answers my question.23:23
