tilmanthe latter06:45
piecesofquietany particular reason for that?06:45
piecesofquietit's what was causing me unicode problems06:45

john_cephalopodaPorting crux to ARM devices like android phones doesn't seem too difficult13:09
onoderajohn_cephalopoda: https://crux-arm.nu/13:09
piecesofquieti really want to try standard crux on my phone because it's x86, but there are 40817239741290374 other problems than the architecture13:10
john_cephalopodaThe biggest problem I see is call support.13:11
john_cephalopodaI haven't found any application that is capable of that.13:13
john_cephalopodaI don't like google. I don't like java. I wonder if it would be possible to access all functions via python.13:15
piecesofquieti don't know if python would support that kind of thing13:17
piecesofquietalthough with the increase in maker-like products that can run python i wouldn't be too surprised if there was a module for it13:17
john_cephalopodammh13:17
john_cephalopodaIf I can make calls with crux, I'd consider to install it on my phone.13:18
onoderahow does sailfish do it13:18
onoderai'm pretty sure sailfish is open source13:18

john_cephalopodaWhaat? I can't search github any more without logging in? Mrr.13:35
xeirrrjohn_cephalopoda: indeed.13:37
john_cephalopodaI don't really understand this measure.13:42
john_cephalopodaEarlier they had a rate limitation when you weren't logged in. But now... How am I supposed to find a github project without the ability to search for it?13:43
john_cephalopodaWhat do I do, when I'm at an internet cafe and want to check on an issue on some tiny project quickly? I can't find it easily, even a search engine could have problems finding it.13:45
john_cephalopodaAnd I can't log in because the security of computers in internet cafes is bad.13:45
xeirrrshout at github guys13:46
john_cephalopodaYep, I'll write them a mail.13:46
xeirrrhere #github13:47
john_cephalopodaxeirrr: Hmm, mail might be better.14:04

john_cephalopodaI kept it quite formal.14:32

john_cephalopodaAh, no, it was a different mail.14:35

pips-Greetings17:55
pips-Is there any particular reasons for pkg-config being configured with --prefix=/usr?17:55
pips-It seem that the binary will not look in /usr/local//lib/pkgconfig.17:56
*** blueness has quit IRC17:56
*** blueness has joined #crux17:58
tilmanpips: you're supposed to set PKG_CONFIG_PATH for that17:59
*** blueness has quit IRC18:00
tilmane.g. export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/lib/pkgconfig:/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig18:00
pipsThat's what I did, but I was wondering why the man page suggest this location as default.18:02
pipsBut, if this is the way to set PKG_CONFIG_PATH, I'm fine with it. :)18:02
*** blueness has joined #crux18:02
pipsThanks.18:03
tilmanwell, it's entirely possible that we're configuring pkg-config wrong18:03
pipsI don't know what should be done and what upstream recommand, so this may be the right thing to do.18:04

jefeyayHi all new Cruxer here and have a question about adding boot parameters. apparently need to add a boot parameter to fix a 'module i915 not found' error when starting X. i set up booting using EFI stub so can't figure out how to add the boot parameter. thanks for any advice.18:55
jaegerIf you use EFISTUB you'll have to add the parameter in your kernel config18:57
jaegerLook for the "Built-in kernel command line" option in the "Processor type and features" section18:58
jefeyayah yes that's right i remember adding that. thank you jaeger19:01
