brian|lfsOk CRUX 3.3 installed with no issue02:35
brian|lfswhat are the new RSYNC urls  for 3.3 for compat-32 contrib core opt and xorg?02:37
brian|lfsThe upgrade didn't upgrade the rsync files02:37
brian|lfsanyone awake?02:41
brian|lfsfigured it out just updated the urls to 3.3 in the rsync files seemed tow ork02:45
jaegerusually you take care of those with rejmerge after an upgrade02:49
brian|lfsoh didn't see that in the guide02:50
jaegerIt's in the "Upgrading a Package" section but it doesn't make a direct connection to system upgrades, I guess02:51
brian|lfssystem seems good so far02:52
brian|lfsRomster was right on 3.3 being stable02:52
brian|lfsI see it came with 4.4.30 kernel02:53
brian|lfsI shall need to compile it eventually02:54
*** dlcusa has joined #crux02:55
Worksterbrian|lfs, rejmerge03:16
Worksterwill do that03:16
brian|lfsah ok cool for future reference03:16
Worksterjager beat me to it03:17
Worksteralso i go tit on 7 machines and all working so far03:17
Worksternot done any xorg testing yet03:17
brian|lfssome how I didn't have xorg-lib-font2 after my upgrade03:17
Workstershould of been injected03:17
brian|lfsand xorg-server wouldn't compile without it03:18
jaegerit wasn't yet in test103:18
Worksterah03:18
brian|lfsand only other broken package I see is mesa3d-3203:18
brian|lfs64 bit compiled fine03:18
Worksterllvm llvm-32 updates will need mesa3d and mesa3d-32 to be recompiled03:19
Worksterrevdep03:19
brian|lfswhats the syntax for that haven't had to sue it in a while03:20
brian|lfsso it goes through and rebuilds everything03:20
brian|lfssome pipe thing you had me do before I think03:20
jaegerit tells you what needs rebuilding, doesn't do it03:20
brian|lfsah ok03:21
brian|lfsis it -fr to force rebuilt of packages03:21
brian|lfsrevdep doesn't say anything is wrong with my llvm or llvm-32 interesting03:22
brian|lfsheres my log file just in case https://paste.pound-python.org/show/fY3R5KaJNoaCfSzsOXxY/03:23

brian|lfshttps://paste.pound-python.org/show/sCzA7BZhRYHAKVPek541/03:33
jaegermesa3d-32 is still an older version03:34
jaegerNeeds to be synced up03:34
brian|lfsah figures lol03:42
brian|lfsstill good I'm doing my revdep anyhow after an update03:42
jaeger3.3 isn't ready yet, heh03:42
jaegerThere will be some issues03:43
brian|lfsonly issue for me so far03:43
brian|lfssamaba takes a while to compile these days03:44
brian|lfsdidn't try the chroot script but may need to be updated I know in the past03:45
brian|lfsit was msising things in it that gentoo and stuff use that are needed for doing certain activites03:46
brian|lfson your host03:46
jaegerthat's pretty vague... if you run into stuff report it and be specific, please03:46
brian|lfsit was a long time ago03:47
brian|lfsdont' recall what it was would have to go look03:47
brian|lfsah ok I see jaeger we need this root #mount --rbind /dev /mnt/mychroot/dev03:48
brian|lfsroot #mount --make-rslave /mnt/mychroot/dev03:48
brian|lfsroot #mount -t proc /proc /mnt/mychroot/proc03:48

guest_I got a question concerning xorg and startx. I'm new to crux and installed everything but only selected core on setup. Now I want to install openbox and did the prt-get depinst openbox and same with xorg but startx still isn't working. What did I do wrong there?09:46
frinnst2you are probably missing some deps09:48
frinnst2do "prt-get depinst xorg"09:49
guest_Is it normal that prt-get always takes a few minutes to finish the install?09:49
frinnst2well since crux is a source based distribution you are compiling everything when you install it. so yes :-)09:50
teK__prt-get virtually does not any of the heavy lifting in installation09:50
teK__ah. Ok. Wrong detail level :P09:50
Romsteryou probably didn't add exec openbox to ~/.xinitrc09:51
frinnst2ah sorry yes, didnt see you had already installed the xorg meta port09:51
frinnst2the xorg log probably have more details as to what whent wrong09:52

Romsterhttp://crux.ster.zone/packages/3.2/qt5#5.7.0-4.pkg.tar.xz21:31
john_cephalopodaI always got problems with qt5. No programs builds properly with it.21:32
Romsterdid you use qmake-qt521:33
Romsterprt-get cat cutemaze21:33
john_cephalopodaIt uses cmake, not sure what's uses in there.21:33
Romsterand the kf5 repo for kde5 works on qt521:33
john_cephalopodaCutemaze is the only qt program in the repos. And it works.21:33
john_cephalopodaBut things like Krita or tupi don't compile.21:34
john_cephalopodaTupi complains about missing qt5 although I got it installed and the requirements are met.21:34
Romsteryes and the kf5 repo https://github.com/tsaop/crux-kf5 depends on qt521:34
Romsterif you give me the Pkgfiles for those i'll take a look later at them john_cephalopoda21:34
Romsteryou got a public repo somewhere?21:35
john_cephalopodaI didn't use a Pkgfile for tupi, I only downloaded a repo and built it using ./configure (where it failed)21:38
john_cephalopodaMy internet is quite slow, trying to get the website where I downloaded it.21:41
john_cephalopodaIt was somewhere on www.maefloresta.com21:42
Romsterwell make a Pkgfile for me and pastebin it so i can try it.21:42
Romsterand any other dependencies not in the official ports tree. or better yet throw it on github or something.21:43
john_cephalopodaDifficult right now, got only 5 KiB/s download and even slower upload.21:45
Romsterwhat the hell and i thought my 700kb/s down and 70kb/s up was slow...21:45
Romsterwhat are you on dialup?21:46
john_cephalopodaLow-speed mobile internet.21:46
john_cephalopodaMy high-speed volume has run out.21:47
RomsterKiB/s not kb/s but i am not used to using killibits21:47
john_cephalopodaKiB is Kibibytes iirc.21:47
Romsteryeah kibi stupid terms they changed everything and i still haven't got used to them21:48
john_cephalopodaKibibytes actually makes sense. 1 Kibibyte is 1024 bytes.21:48
john_cephalopoda1 Kilobyte is 1000 bytes.21:48
john_cephalopodaThen there's "Kilobit" or "Gigabit", which are used to let the connection seem 8x as fast as it is.21:49
Romsteryou try using one term then have it changed after decades of using it21:49
Romsterand then i don't use it often enough to get it right.21:50
