j_vk620 on my main system. this laptop is intel integrated (i5).00:26
j_vthe k620 isn't much better than the gt640 as far as performance, but seems to run cooler00:27
pedjaah, quadro card. nice00:28
pedjagt640 will have to do for now. while it renders or does photogrametry dark magic, I go and annoy the cat. she is not amused :)00:32

j_vTimB_: when you are back, i tracked down the remaining issues and pushed the fix. texlive now builds fine here.05:20
ryuoInteresting how BTRFS compression seems to work when you don't configure it with mount options...05:37
ryuo+c file attribute enforces compression, but it's always zlib, regardless of how you configure the subvolume compression property it seems.05:37
ryuowithout +c, it appears to respect the chosen compression property.05:38
*** emmett1_ has joined #crux05:41
ryuoOh, so that's why. setting +c overwrites the compression property.05:41

TimB_j_v: fails for me on some configure stage with libgd something. And I can't seem to rebuild libgd as of right now as it fails on some libjpeg-turbo header which seems missing09:24

frinnstjue: hmm sorry about that. Have been running it for a few months before pushing but never saw that10:45
juethe problem is that the cmake based configure system of libgd is kinda broken and libjpeg removed the libtool stuff, so auto* stuff of libgd is broken as well ;)10:51
juewell, I'll try to fix that somehow10:52
z3braoi10:56
frinnstyeah I had that issue with lots of glib/gtk stuff11:06
frinnstHEY LETS SWITCH TO MESON. OH OTHER STUFF THAT NOW FAILS? FUCK THAT11:06
TimB_sounds reasonable :)11:54
pedjamesa-19 is deprecating autotools, iirc.12:01
Spoofingin 3.5 lilo was moved to opt, its okay because UEFI is coming.. but UEFI loader boots from fat32 partition, so maybe you need move dosfstools to core?12:22
Spoofingwithout mkdosfs we can't create EFI fat32 partition. i think dosfstools should be installed on ISO image and moved to core. IMHO.12:27
frinnstwell you dont *have* to use uefi12:27
frinnstwe plan to create a menu where you change your bootloader12:27
frinnstall bootloaders are in opt12:28
frinnstand grub2-efi (or whatever its called) depends on dosfstools12:28
frinnstdosfstools is included on the iso root (im pretty sure) so thats what you use to create the partition and filesystem before running setup12:28
frinnstgrub2-efi does not depend on dosfstools, i stand corrected. but it doesnt really need it once the esp is created12:29
Spoofingokay.. just i think if we have only two choice, uefi or bios, and bios is legacy, we must install efi from core, and fat32 tools should be in core.. but if your idea > all bootloaders in opt < its okay.. thanks12:31
frinnstfeel free change my mind :) debate regarding design choices are always welcome12:32
frinnstbut generally you wont need to ever touch the esp again and we like to keep the dependencies minimal12:33
Spoofingyes.. crux is awesome, core only 550mb on / (rootfs). but its still powerfull linux.12:35

darfoj_v, by adding --with-graphite2 to the configure in harfbuzz I was able to get your latest texlive to build. Thank you!22:33
j_vdarfo: cool, glad it helped. i've just been tracking down some build failures with newer libjpeg-turbo, but the issue is easily taken care of by rebuilding, is this order, libjpeg-turbo libtiff libgd... i figured out that it is a problem with installed lib*.la files listing hard path to libjpeg.la that is no longer installed in the libjpeg-turbo port.22:51
j_vthe problem with other lib*.la files containing outdated reference to libjpeg.la will probably show up for other ports. same fix should work, track down all lib*.la's that contain the libjpeg.la reference instead of a -ljpeg linker option should just need a rebuild.22:54
TimB_j_v: cool, worked. thanks!23:39
jaegerlibtool .la cleanup is always a chore23:58
