john_cephalopodaTimB_: What do you need that feature for?00:02
TimB_I try to go through my installed packages and clean unneeded stuff I once pulled every once in a while00:03
TimB_I was just doing it and thought it would be nice to see that kind of info00:03
john_cephalopodaActually, you could easily write a script that wraps around those commands and gives you what you need00:05
TimB_yeah, I know00:05
john_cephalopodaI mostly use info for getting the version number.00:06
TimB_well, it alraedy shows deps (oversaw that before writing here)00:07
TimB_still, adding dependent seems logical00:07

Abdullahwhat I"m doing wrong here,
Workster$version.tar.gz wont extract to $name-$version ?04:30
Abdullahit even compiles the binary Workster04:31
Worksterok so what's the issue?04:31
Abdullahbut then says, no such file or directory04:31
Worksterat what line above that? my crystal ball is broken04:31
Workstermy only guess is you need to install -d $PKG/usr/bin before installing to DESTDIR=$PKG/usr/bin04:32
Worksterand why are you installing to DESTDIR=$PKG/usr/bin/clipnotify ?04:32
Worksterusually DESTDIR=$PKG should be enough04:33
AbdullahThanks Workster04:33
jaegerAlso install has no idea what DESTDIR means, that's generally a Makefile thing04:34
Worksterah crud i dnd04:38
Worksterdidn't notice that make DESTDIR=$PKG install04:38
Worksterserving customers and doing other jobs at the same time.04:39
Abdullah is it okay now?04:42
Abdullah sorry now it's okay ;-)04:45
jaegeralso needs xorg-libxfixes in the depends on line, looks like04:50
AbdullahThanks jaeger05:16
AbdullahHow do we know what package need what to build when we have already something installed05:19

AbdullahIs that possible if I have three programs which I maintain in one single repo as submodules, so if I clone this repo via pkgmk and it should make all three of them and install them ?19:30

jaegernot sure what you're asking... pkgmk doesn't handle repo cloning21:21
Abdullahjaeger: I mean I have two suckless programs which I use most of the time. dwm and dmenu, and I have ports for them. so is it possible it to compile them from one port? like if I create a repo for dwm, submodule dmnu in it, create a port, git submodule init in that, so pkgmk won't compile them both and install them ?21:32
jaegerIt would just be one port21:34
jaegeryou can certainly install as much as you want in a single port if that's your thing21:35
john_cephalopodaprt-get depinst xorg # installs all xorg stuff21:35
Abdullahokay thanks, I was just curious about it.21:35
john_cephalopodaAlternatively check out i321:35
Abdullahbeen using i3 for long time. I love suckless tools ;-)21:36
john_cephalopodaxorg is a metaport, i3 installs several things in one port.21:36
Abdullahokay. I'll check it.21:37
john_cephalopodai3 is not suckless ;p21:37
Abdullahjohn_cephalopoda: yeah I know that. I thought you were recommending me to use i3 ;-)21:37
john_cephalopodaIt's better than dwm in some ways21:37
Abdullahlike it can be configured without recompiling ;-)21:40
AbdullahI had a alias and later I had autocmd! bufwritepost ~/.config/i3/config !i3 restart21:41
