also_uplimeis there a way to enable contrib via pkgadd? the handbook only showed how to do it via prt-get09:15
frinnstpkgadd doesnt do anyting automagically09:18
frinnstyou just "pkgadd <path>"09:18
frinnstso nothing to enable09:19
also_uplimeoh so i just download it then pkgadd it?09:19
frinnstyou do something like this: cd /usr/ports/core/gcc; pkgmk; pkgadd /usr/ports/core/gcc/gcc#8.3.0-1.pkg.tar.xz09:20
also_uplimehow do I populate /usr/ports?09:22
frinnstports -u09:22
frinnst explains it a bit better than I do :-)09:23
frinnstnp, have fun! :)09:24

jolupaHi all... I have a problem building libindicator, I don't see a package in the portsdb, I cant't find where the problem is... I try to build following the aur package builds, but nothin to do either.. The unbenefits for not being a programmer I think...09:50
jolupaHere's a pastebin
john_cephalopodajolupa: Does that happen with other packages, too?09:51
john_cephalopodaI.e. do other packages also fail with the message "configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables"09:52
jolupano only with this...09:52
john_cephalopodaCan you please post the Pkgfile?09:53
jolupaHere's one version
jolupaAnd this one is adapting all aur pkbuild
also_uplimeso I'm trying to install haskell via but I'm getting an error when I do: how do I specify where libgmp is? here's a copy of the Pkgfile:
john_cephalopodajolupa: That program is really outdated. Last release in 201210:19
pedjajolupa, TimB_ has all the indicators covered at :)10:19
john_cephalopodaIt needs a bunch of patches to work with current gtk. You best check out that ^10:20
jolupaoh! I will try... I tried to download the most recent version, I think is 16.0.1, but I can find the link... I will try TimB_10:20
pedjaalso_uplime, mkdir ghc, move Pkgfile to it, and use sudo/fakeroot or build it as root.10:28

also_uplimecool, thanks10:35

TimB_jolupa: you wanted to build libindicator? what sources where you using?11:03
john_cephalopodaTimB_: They used the ones from launchpad$name/12.10/$version/+download/$name-$version.tar.gz11:24
TimB_sorry, I meant which ports? I recently spent some time with indicators and came up with this set:
rmullfrinnst: Just following up on that issue I had building qt5 with -march=native: Removing the -march setting fixed the build, thanks11:37
rmullAlso, I think opt/bitlbee may not be compatible with API changes in openssl, it doesn't seem to know the storage size of the EVP_CIPHER_CTX type during build11:41
rmulltek__: Ping on the bitlbee thing ^11:41

jolupa@TimB_ yeah I follow the link that @pedja post before... And I try to build from the launchpad website, I think the officials?12:01
*** zimmer__Dl has quit IRC12:02
TimB_what are you using indicators for? gtk3? gtk2?12:02
TimB_you can depinst libappindicators-{gtk2,gtk3,sharp,python} from my set, they should all build fine12:03
jolupaI build a claws mail from git with gtk3 support, I want to build all the possible things with gtk3, and one thing that depends, optional, is indicator and I suppose is not optional 'cause I don't have the icon on the systray...12:05
jolupaAlso the xfce indicator plugin, and the obinslab require them...12:05
TimB_yeah they should need gtk3 bindings, so just installing -gtk3 should work fine12:06
TimB_no idea about claws-mail gtk3, it's pretty broken and not well maintained12:06
TimB_obs-studio might need it, never noticed before without it12:06
TimB_but it shows an trayicon for me12:07
jolupayeah... The last update is two months ago. Right now is working properly, some weird things on menus, but well12:07
jolupayeah obins show the tray but if a put the mouse pointer on it is segfaulting12:07
TimB_so what fails for you?12:07
TimB_for me, it works without seg faulting12:07
TimB_ <- there you can get them as a batch12:09
jolupaI don't know why and right now I don't have any indicator installed... so i was thinkin maybe the obins problem was that12:09
jolupaOh! cool link! Thanks12:09
TimB_cool, let me know how it works out for you12:11
jolupaI need something from gnome to build it?12:12
jolupaoh! yeah gnome-common...12:13
TimB_oh, yeah it seems12:13
TimB_will add it later12:13
jolupaoh I see that obins needs gtk2, shit atom apps! :D12:20
Romsterobs-studio uses qt512:30
jolupaoh. I think we talk to different apps... Is Obinslab Starter, for the Anne Pro2 Keyboard...12:31
jolupaIs an atom based app12:31
Romsteroh obins12:32
Romsterwhy must the names be similar12:32
jolupalazyness :D12:33
TimB_I also thought it was about obs-studio, lol12:34
Romsterso you are porting it to crux? looks easy enough12:34
Romstereasy to convert that to a Pkgfile12:35
jolupayeah I have it on my repo is the deb package...12:35
Romsterjust need to redo the dependencies to match ours.12:35
jolupabut with the correct udev rule the one shipped with the aur and the one with the obins package don't work with the new firmware12:36
Romsterand it's binary so you might hit needing older library versions.12:36
jolupai removed the indicator dependencies... 'cause is working fine except for the segfault of the trayicon...12:36
jolupaBut there was with the indicators installed too... So don't know.12:37
jolupaand i need the indicators gtk2 version 'cause the atom apps i read are gtk2 only... don't know if that changed12:39
