dlcusafinnst, Romster, brian|lfs, pedja: I'm locally building xfce 4.14 and have found its xfce4-panel wants libpangocairo-1.0.la instead of the current libpangocairo-1.0.l.  Any chance of getting opt/pango upgraded?07:47

Romsterdlcusa, then this may interest you i've made a pango-compat port just finished with it now that has this08:51
dlcusaRomster, yes, I'm very interested--thank you for ALL YOU DO in these parts!  I guess "pango-compat: pango" would need to be defined in prt-get.aliases?08:55
cruxbot[opt.git/3.5]: pango-compat: initial import08:56
Romsterports -u opt; prt-get readme pango-compat08:56
Romsterwhat's the chances of that08:56
dlcusaPretty good!08:57
cruxbot[opt.git/3.5]: [notify] pangox-compat: now requires pango-compat to compile08:58
Romsterand fixed that too08:58
Romsteri really would love to see kf5 and pedja's xfce be more offical on crux.nu and sepens old xfce retired. and alans kde3 retired09:00
TimB_i would love to see tsaop and torsten henschel team up for kf5 maintaining? there seem to be two individual kf5 repos out there09:05
TimB_and being more official on crux would sure be nice09:05
Romstertwo i know of only 109:05
Romsterpedja, needs to add the change to xfce4-panel09:06
Romsterand anything else affected09:06
TimB_Romster: besides what's listed in the portdb (torsten henschels repo) there is this one he made me aware of https://github.com/tsaop/crux-kf509:07
*** SiFuh has quit IRC09:07
Romstertsaop is the one i know of09:07
TimB_https://crux.nu/portdb/?a=repo&q=kde509:08
Romsteri actually never looked at that one09:09
Romsterthey should team up09:09
TimB_yeah09:09
Romsteroh nuts gir conflicts to also fix on pango-compat09:10
TimB_tsaop isn't even listed on portdb09:10
Romsternope09:10
TimB_i wonder why? i never knew about his repo09:10
Romsternether is pedja's xfce?09:10
joacimi think it once was09:10
dlcusaI think pedja wants to avoid the work of officially supporting it.09:18
dlcusaI don't begrudge him that.09:19
joacimi think the mate repo is enough for DE09:20
Romsterhonestly think crux would shrink if i wasn't around maintaining stuff but then again i got some stuff that barely anyone else uses but me.09:20
joacimat least for repos that are listed09:20
Romsteroh yes mate isn't listed either is it?09:20
joacimoh. didnt know it wasnt listed09:21
dlcusaI think I need sleep before tackling pango-compat and forking everything that depends on pango.09:21
joacimoh no it is listed. just below kde409:21
joacimit is probably safe to unlist kde4 now. does anyone at all use packages from that repo?09:22
TimB_not me09:23
dlcusaNor me.09:23
Romsternot me09:27
Romsteri /think/ i just/// (finishes compiling) ok correction i have fixed pygtk just need to commit09:28

joacimi hate it when i find out one of my ports have been neglected...10:12
*** jolupa has joined #crux10:14
jolupaHi! Sometime ago I read, I think in the wiki, the project to merge ports in a single user repo, something like the AUR on Arch. And avoid to add repos manually. Is this still in talks, It's possible... I dream it?10:20
TimB_you mean contrib?10:22
jolupaAh! Ok is contrib...10:23
TimB_i would say this sounds like contrib, no idea if anything is in the talks in regards to that, i would suppose there isn't?10:23
jolupaI mean when I search portdb in the page there are lots of repos with programs not in contrib... So I was gessing that maybe a unified repo for all that repos could be fine.10:25
TimB_maybe, but port quality also varies between different maintainers10:25
TimB_it's something i still try to improve for my ports10:26
jolupayeah, that's true... My ports works on my side but I think dlcusa was having some problems... I see the point, quality assurance, no?10:27
TimB_jolupa: yes. for example, Torsten Henschel reported to me that having doxygen installed and building some of libreoffices dependencies, it will generate $PKG/usr/share/docs, but it can be disabled with --without-docs10:29
TimB_i haven't got doxygen installed for a long time and it's not a hard dependency, but it will get picked up by default if it's on the host. so yeah, i didn't notice that at all, nor did i care to be honest. but that crap needs to go, now that i know about it :)10:30
jolupaok I see. And how Arch solve that? I mean I was with Manjaro some weeks and pacman just install the pacakages, nothing to worry about... Now I'm thinking they're binaries, I think?10:33
TimB_no idea, but i would guess it all starts with the number of acting people?10:34
