OrthoHello, I am trying to get prt-get to "work".  Just a simple `prt-get search mysql` but I keep geting a Config error that the path, in this case /etc/ports/core can't be accessed02:57
OrthoI had modified the /etc/prt-get.conf file to point at a different path, as mentioned above, but even if I reset things back to /usr/ports/core, for example, I still get the same error about "can't access"02:59

SiFuhOrtho: ports -u03:24
OrthoWhat will that do SiFuh?03:25
SiFuhIt will download the core repository to where ever you configured it to be located.03:25
SiFuhso default is /usr/ports/core you set that in prt-get.conf and you then run ports -u and it will download the repo and stick it in /usr/ports/<repo name>03:26
SiFuheverytime a repo is updated, yo just manually type ports -u and it will resync the repo to your system03:27
OrthoWell, I've not configured anything per se. I just noticed that in the prt-get.conf file...the prtdir "targets" were aimed at something that was not there.  Hence my editing it but then setting it back to what it originally was.03:27
OrthoInteresting, you typed faster than I did.  I tend to be overly verbose03:28
SiFuhIt's not there because you hadn't synced the repo03:28
OrthoI see. Ok, I must have missed that in the installation instructions or...I'll have to check.03:29
OrthoYup, that did it! Now `prt-get search mysql` is giving me something more sensical. Thanks SiFuh!03:30
SiFuh" - User Manual.html"   "" ""03:31
SiFuhThe man pages for pkgadd and prt-get are pretty good too03:32
OrthoGood point.  This CRUX thing is making me feel like a total newbie.  =)03:33
SiFuhYou'll figure it out. On the bright side, you will learn a lot.03:37
SiFuhTimB_: CRUX on the TV Box is so much smoother. Not jittery like void linux.03:38
OrthoHa! I stand corrected, section 5.2.1 starts with `ports u`. Sorry :D03:39
SiFuhyou can even specify a specific repo   ports -u core03:40
SiFuh <-- lots of repositories. Not recommended to add them all though.03:40

TimB_but qemu costs performance where something like docker or lxc should run much cheaper21:19
